The Environmental Manager role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulations, minimize environmental impact, and promote sustainable practices. The ideal candidate will have a background in environmental management, with specific knowledge of the unique challenges and regulations within the air and ground ambulance industry sector.

LOCATION:
REMOTE
- Environmental Compliance:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations applicable to the air and ground ambulance industry. - Regulatory Liaison:
Serves as the primary point of contact for environmental regulatory agencies, maintaining awareness of changes in regulations and facilitating communication with relevant stakeholders. - Environmental Audits:
Conduct regular environmental audits to assess compliance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions in collaboration with local operations leadership and teams. - Waste Management:
Develop and oversee waste management programs, including hazardous waste disposal. - Spill Response Planning:
Develop and maintain spill response plans for both air and ground operations, ensuring timely and effective response to minimize environmental impact. - Environmental Training:
Provide training to employees on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility. - Environmental Risk Assessments:
Coordinate environmental impact assessments for new projects, operations, or changes to existing processes, ensuring potential environmental risks are identified and mitigated. - Reporting:
Prepare and submit required environmental reports to regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and internal management. This includes engaging legal for "Notices of Violation" when they occur. - Position requires some travel within the United States (up to 50%).
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in environmental management, preferably within the air and ground medical transportation industry.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, including those specific to aviation and emergency medical services.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Certifications in environmental management (e.g., CEM, CHMM) are a plus.
- Strong knowledge and utilization of Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with CERS and SMARTS CA specific web-based environmental solutions.
