Hardware Mechanical Engineer – Onsite
This role has been designed as ‘Onsite’ with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.
Job Family DefinitionDesigns, analyzes, develops, modifies and evaluates materials, mechanical systems, equipment and packaging. Conducts feasibility studies, design margin and validation analysis, and empirical testing on new and modified designs. Leads or assists in architecture development and assessment. Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, designs and production techniques. May direct support personnel and partner organizations in preparation of detailed design, design testing, prototype fabrication and production tooling.
Responsibilities- Design portions of engineering solutions for mechanical and thermal hardware, electronics enclosures, and production tooling based on established engineering principles.
- Develop and implement parameters and test plans for existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, fan curves, system power measurements and acoustics.
- Collaborate and communicate with internal and outsourced development partners on mechanical and thermal design and development.
- Participate as a member of project teams of other mechanical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced partners to develop reliable, cost‑effective and high‑quality solutions for low to moderately complex products.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- Typically 2‑4 years of experience.
- Proficiency in CREO or other 3D CAD software as a mechanical design tool.
- Ability to apply analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience designing sheet metal and plastic parts and associated production tooling and processes.
- Experience using CFD and thermal mock‑ups to validate thermal solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
- Ability to effectively communicate design proposals and negotiate options.
