Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

What You’ll Do:- Design, build, and lead development of embedded systems for an embedded device program, from concept through production release.
- Develop and debug firmware/software for embedded platforms such as Raspberry Pi, integrating sensors and peripherals as needed.
- Drive designs through DFM/DFT and production readiness, partnering with manufacturing and supply chain.
- Set technical direction for the hardware/firmware stack and mentor other engineers on the team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software, systems, and program teams to integrate this new device into the broader Archer ecosystem.
- Hands‑on experience with Raspberry Pi and other embedded systems platforms.
- Demonstrated PCB design experience (schematic capture, layout, and bring‑up).
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools for mechanical/enclosure design.
- Has taken at least one embedded system from prototype through production.
Qualifications:
- Ability to architect and lay out PCBs, including schematic capture, component selection, and bring‑up/debug of prototype boards.
- Ability to produce 3D CAD models for enclosures, mounts, and mechanical integration of embedded hardware.
- Background in aerospace, robotics, or other safety‑critical embedded domains.
For this position we are targeting a base pay between $150,000 - $180,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
