Semiconductor Laboratory Technician

Team Credo is looking for a precise and highly disciplined Semiconductor Laboratory Technician to support our manufacturing and research operations. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing cleanroom benches, managing material setups, and operating critical thermal processing equipment (such as diffusion furnaces, RTP systems, or curing ovens). The ideal candidate has excellent manual dexterity and a deep commitment to maintaining the micro-contamination controls required for high-yield semiconductor fabrication.

This position will be onsite at our San Jose, CA HQ.

Base salary range is $30.00- $45.00 hourly. The base salary offer will depend on factors such as education, experience, training, skills, qualifications, and location. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, equity and a full range of medical and other benefits.

  • Set up, organize, and sanitize chemical benches and wafer-handling workstations according to strict protocol.
  • Program, monitor, and troubleshoot semiconductor thermal equipment (e.g., diffusion, oxidation, annealing, or chemical vapor deposition systems).
  • Prepare, sort, and inspect silicon wafers, chemical reagents, and specialized tooling prior to processing runs.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    Perform routine maintenance, quartzware changes, and temperature calibrations on thermal processing units.
  • Contamination Control:
    Adhere rigorously to cleanroom protocols (Class 10/100/1000) including proper gowning, airflow tracking, and particle minimization.
  • Document thermal profile metrics, run logs, and equipment states utilizing Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Track and maintain cable and connector inventory on thermal processing equipment, inspecting for wear or damage per SOP; promptly report any shortages to the engineering team to initiate reordering.

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certificate in Electronics, Materials Science, Chemical Technology, or a related engineering field.
  • 2+ years of experience inside a semiconductor fabrication plant (fab) or microelectronics cleanroom environment.
  • Familiarity with high-temperature thermal processing systems and mechanical wafer handling tools.
  • Extreme attention to detail, strict adherence to step-by-step Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and strong situational awareness.
  • Ability to spend extended periods standing in full cleanroom attire (bunny suit) and handle fragile semiconductor materials safely.
