Job Summary

We are seeking a Mid to Senior-level Project Scheduler to support an immediate operational need on an active project at our client's site in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing integrated project schedules to support successful execution of projects at a chemical manufacturing site. As a senior project scheduler, this role provides leadership in schedule development, analysis, and recovery planning, ensuring alignment across engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and plant operations.

The Sr Scheduler is expected to drive proactive schedule management, provide clear visibility into critical path and schedule risks, and deliver reliable insights that help project and plant leadership make informed decisions and achieve safe, on-time project delivery.

Role Responsibilities and Functions
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules for chemical manufacturing site projects, covering engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and commissioning.
  • Lead schedule recovery and acceleration planning to address delays and protect critical outage, startup, and production milestones.
  • Re-baseline and restructure schedules as needed to reflect current execution strategies, plant access windows, safety constraints, and contractor performance.
  • Perform critical path method (CPM) and float analysis, including what-if scenarios, to evaluate schedule risks, opportunities, and recovery options.
  • Integrate contractor and subcontractor schedules into a comprehensive master schedule and validate logic, sequencing, and resource feasibility.
  • Coordinate schedule alignment across engineering, procurement, construction, plant operations, and maintenance to minimize disruption to ongoing production.
  • Provide timely, accurate progress updates and schedule performance metrics, including milestones, variances, and forecast completion dates.
  • Prepare and present schedule reports, dashboards, and look-ahead plans that improve transparency and support decision-making for project and plant leadership.
  • Clearly communicate schedule drivers, constraints, risks, and mitigation actions to Project Managers, site leadership, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Support adherence to project controls standards, corporate procedures, and client/owner reporting requirements for projects and turnarounds.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical field preferred.
  • 10+ years of project scheduling experience in EPC, industrial, or chemical/petrochemical environments (will also consider 5+ years for strong mid-level candidates).
  • Proven experience supporting small to large projects and/or turnarounds within operating chemical or manufacturing facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience with schedule recovery, re-baselining, and critical path analysis on complex industrial projects.
  • Experience working directly with contractors, subcontractors, and plant operations teams on active chemical or industrial sites.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC project execution in chemical or petrochemical manufacturing environments, including coordination with operating units and strict safety requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 preferred and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Deep understanding of CPM scheduling, float management, logic development, and schedule risk identification in an industrial plant setting.
  • Ability to interpret engineering deliverables, construction work packages, procurement plans, and tie-in or outage scopes and translate them into executable schedules.
  • Experience integrating multiple contractor and subcontractor schedules into a cohesive, resource-feasible master schedule.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex schedule information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, plant-based project environment with changing priorities, tight timelines, and frequent interface with operations.
