Mechanical/Thermal Engineering Architect
Position in the fast‑paced DRAM Systems and Component Architecture Group at Micron Technology, Inc. As a core senior technical individual contributor, you will focus on the architecture, build, bring‑up, validation and transition to production of systems based on new memory technologies, ASICs, FPGAs, digital, mixed‑signal, analog circuitry and power supplies. You will have solid knowledge and extensive experience in physical and heat‑related aspects, high‑speed transmission line theory, mechanical and thermal development, and characterization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Architect, develop, bring up, test, validate, and release structural and thermal components for complex electronic systems and modules.
- Build electronics systems and modules by following guidelines for physical and thermal design and implementation.
- Define and implement test and validation mechanical and thermal plans, conduct thorough design reviews of all major sub‑assemblies, and guarantee only one prototype leading to the final system/module revision, including MTBF prediction, FMEA, component derating, margin test, etc.
- Oversee the fabrication of the mechanical and thermal systems and modules.
- Support product certification activities, NPI, production, and manufacturing, including the transfer of engineering to manufacturing and materials procurement.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the operating and work processes and help implement them with management support to create a more efficient, agile and higher quality product development process.
- BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Thermal Engineering paired with 15 years of experience, or MSc degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Thermal Engineering paired with 10 years of experience.
- Solid experience (at least 7 years) in the Electronics/Storage Industry architecting, developing and shipping electronics/storage solutions and products.
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as Solid Works.
- Knowledge and/or experience of storage and memory sub‑systems, including PCIe and DDR technologies.
- Proficient with using AI tools in daily work.
- Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with colleagues.
- Self‑motivated, self‑directed, and a team player within and outside the team.
- US base salary range: $ - $ per year.
