As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will support initiatives that improve operational efficiency, optimize production processes, and maintain data accuracy across manufacturing systems. You will gain valuable experience in production layouts, process mapping, workstation design, and continuous improvement while contributing to projects that help drive productivity and operational excellence.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field to apply classroom knowledge in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and develop practical engineering skills.
You will:
- Assist with production line moves, layout modifications, and process change initiatives.
- Support Industrial Engineers in planning and preparing manufacturing areas for equipment or process changes.
- Maintain and update the Industrial Engineering Database (IEDB) and other engineering systems.
- Create and update production visuals, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Assist with ordering, receiving, and validating production tooling and equipment.
- Support process standardization efforts in alignment with Jabil's global, regional, and site requirements.
- Help ensure data accuracy and integrity to support continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Participate in process improvement projects focused on efficiency, productivity, and waste reduction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing operations and engineering projects.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
To get here, you should:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Have previous internship, project work, or academic experience related to manufacturing, process improvement, or industrial engineering is a plus.
- Have experience working on engineering projects, process mapping, or data analysis through coursework.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Basic understanding of industrial engineering concepts including work measurement, process mapping, facilities layout, and workstation design.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate data and documentation.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience using Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, or AutoCAD.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma concepts.
- Interest in manufacturing operations, production systems, and process optimization.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

The hourly pay range for this role is $16.00 - $32.00. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
