We are seeking an experienced Printed Wiring Board Designer to support the development of highly reliable electronics for satellite power, propulsion, and avionics systems.

This position will focus on designing rigid and flex printed wiring boards, developing complete manufacturing documentation, and collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers. The successful candidate will have strong Altium Designer experience and a solid understanding of high-density multilayer board design, fabrication, assembly, and IPC standards.

Sponsorship for employment visas is NOT available for this position (e.g., H-1B, OPT/CPT stem extensions, STEM OPT extension). Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create schematic drawings, PWB layouts, and design-verification checks using ECAD tools
  • Develop component placement and routing that meet electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and reliability requirements
  • Design rigid and flex circuits incorporating high-density, high-power, and digital circuitry
  • Apply physical and electrical design constraints for high-voltage and high-current applications
  • Create layer stack-ups and support technical coordination with PWB fabrication vendors
  • Design blind, buried, and other advanced via structures
  • Partner with production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet reliability standards
  • Produce schematic, fabrication, and assembly drawings and other release documentation
  • Manage design releases within the company’s Product Lifecycle Management system
  • Maintain the component library by verifying existing components for accuracy and IPC/MIL compliance
  • Create new schematic symbols and physical footprints and coordinate engineering and manufacturing reviews
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of professional experience using Altium Designer
  • Experience designing high-density multilayer boards containing high-power and digital circuitry
  • Strong understanding of blind and buried via design
  • Knowledge of PWB fabrication and assembly processes
  • Experience with component data, library management, and associated database systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in electronics, engineering technology, or a related field
  • Five or more years of relevant technical experience
  • Experience designing PWBs for satellites, spacecraft, aerospace systems, or other extreme environments
  • Knowledge of PCB failure modes and high-reliability design practices
  • Experience with Cadence Concept HDL and Allegro PCB Designer
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines
