Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Staff Foundry Engineer with 12+ years of semiconductor industry experience in process engineering, yield optimization, device characterization, and foundry management. This role will work closely with external semiconductor foundries to optimize high-voltage process technologies, improve product yields, monitor process control, and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions across multiple foundry partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize and install high-voltage process technologies at external semiconductor foundries.
- Ensure technologies running across multiple foundries deliver equivalent, well-centered, and controlled results.
- Build strong working relationships with external fab engineers and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Monitor process technologies using statistical analysis of PCM, in-line process data, and final test results.
- Analyze and optimize yields across multiple families of high-voltage smart-power products.
- Establish correlations between product yield, process control monitors, and in-fab SPC data.
- Provide technical feedback and recommendations to external foundry engineering teams.
- Monitor reliability testing for new products and semiconductor technologies.
- Partner with device, packaging, product, and reliability engineers to identify root causes and develop corrective actions.
- Develop an understanding of process/package interactions and their impact on product performance and reliability.
- Support design and product engineering teams with engineering lot scheduling, expediting, and tape-outs.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation required for foundry agreements, processes, and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with emphasis on semiconductor processing and device physics.
- 12+ years of semiconductor industry experience in process engineering, yield optimization, device characterization, or related areas.
- Experience monitoring and improving product yields using:
- Process Control Monitor (PCM) data
- SPC data
- Experience working with external semiconductor foundries is highly preferred.
- Strong experience reviewing product yield information with product engineering teams.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving semiconductor reliability issues.
- Familiarity with device measurement techniques, including manual characterization and automated PCM data collection.
- Understanding of the design and application of process control monitor test structures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-voltage / smart-power semiconductor technologies.
- Familiarity with product testing and analog circuit design.
- Experience with semiconductor process/package interactions.
- Experience establishing or maintaining foundry agreements, technical procedures, and process documentation.
