POSITION SUMMARY:
The Onsite Environment Technician III manages hazardous and non-hazardous waste, ensures regulatory compliance, performs spill response, and conducts waste stream sampling at client facilities. The incumbent will package waste for transport, inspect containers, consolidate chemicals, and maintain comprehensive documentation and records to support the client's and Republic Services' sustainability goals.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collects, packages, and labels hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
- Performs chemical bulking and consolidation for efficient disposal.
- Inspects drums for container integrity and compliance with regulations.
- Ensures the safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles.
- Conducts waste stream sampling and profiling.
- Operate and maintain site equipment, including forklifts.
- Participate in site-specific spill response activities.
- Maintains records, logs data, and prepares reports for regulatory bodies and internal use.
- Leads field data collection activities and manages complex assignments.
- Provides guidance and training to more junior technicians.
- Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good technical skills, leadership abilities, and physical capability for site work.
- Excellent communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Ability to use heavy and light equipment, such as forklifts and pallet-jacks.
- Skilled in using hand and shop tools and instruments.
- Ability to prioritize, stay focused, and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.
- Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage complex projects, mentor junior staff, and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), walk on roofs, climb ladders, and lift items up to 60 pounds.
A valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 4 - 7 years of overall relevant work experience.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain upon hire.

The pay range for this position is $29.45 to $40.47
* which reflects theminimumwagein multiple jurisdictions. The actual range will depend on the locality in which you are hired.
