- Accounting to assist the Accounting Department and our new 133-bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital, located in South San Jose. San Jose Behavioral Health is where adults and adolescents can receive comprehensive inpatient treatment for a range of behavioral and mental health disorders.

Plan, organize and supervise the facility's financial support function(s), to ensure industry standards, as well as company policy and procedures are followed.
Essential Functions- Responsible for the complete flow of the business functions of the department(s) including proper recording of payments, changes and write-offs, proper methods of collections, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial documents and reporting.
- Provide staff management to include hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
- Resolve difficult issues and complaints originating from any internal or external source.
- Responsible for implementing departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal statues, hospital and accrediting agency regulations.
- Maintain knowledge of payer-specific rules and regulations regarding billing and payment for facility and professional services.
- Check accuracy of business transactions recorded by others.
- Manage department financial operations.
- Analyze financial records or reports to determine state of operations and to improve financial management.
- Prepare financial documents, reports or budgets, as directed.
- Monitor flow of cash or other resources.
- Preparation and submission quarterly and annual government reporting requirements to ensure the financial records are accurate and filed timely.
- Assist in budget analysis and preparation.
- Assist, monitor, and coordinate accounting and financial projects as assigned by CFO. Assist CFO with schedules, reports, audits, and projects per Corporate and other agency's requests.
- Serve as a backup for the Payroll/AP Staff Accountant when needed.
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field required.
- Four or more years' accounting experience preferred, in a healthcare setting a plus.
