A growing financial institution is seeking an experienced Senior Universal Banker to join its Downtown San Jose branch. This is an excellent opportunity for a relationship-driven banking professional who enjoys balancing client advisory services, operational excellence, and team leadership.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in consumer and business banking, a commitment to exceptional customer service, and the ability to support branch growth through relationship building and community engagement.

Client Relationship Management

• Deliver personalized financial guidance and recommend solutions aligned with customers’ needs and financial goals.
• Develop and expand consumer and business banking relationships through cross-selling and consultative conversations.
• Open and service personal and business deposit accounts, including checking, savings, CDs, and IRAs.
• Support business clients with treasury management services, remote deposit solutions, courier services, and related banking products.
• Represent the branch within the local community and build relationships that support business development efforts.

• Ensure account servicing activities comply with banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain strong knowledge of BSA, AML, fraud prevention, and information security requirements.
• Monitor complex transactions and daily branch reports while identifying and mitigating potential risks.
• Support branch audit readiness, security procedures, and regulatory compliance efforts.
• Assist in maintaining operational controls that protect both clients and the institution.

• Mentor and guide tellers and junior bankers to promote professional development and service excellence.
• Partner with branch leadership to achieve sales, service, and operational goals.
• Assist with coaching initiatives, performance improvement efforts, and team development.
• Resolve escalated client concerns with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment.

• Minimum of 3 years of retail banking experience with significant teller and new account responsibilities.
• Experience supporting both consumer and business banking clients.
• Strong knowledge of banking regulations, branch operations, and compliance requirements.
• Proven success building client relationships and identifying financial solutions.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and banking systems.

• Notary Public certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Experience supporting treasury management and business banking services.
• Previous leadership, mentoring, or training experience within a banking environment.
