Senior Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in San Jose, California. In this long-term contract role, you will play a critical part in managing regulatory reporting for a banking organization, ensuring compliance with industry standards. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in financial management and accounting within the banking sector.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and submit regulatory reports, including call reports and other required filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with banking regulations.

- Manage the month-end close process, including reviewing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

- Oversee the general ledger to maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial records.

- Conduct financial statement audits and collaborate with auditors to provide necessary documentation and insights.

- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Support asset and liability management processes to optimize the bank's financial position.

- Provide expertise in retail banking operations to align financial practices with organizational goals.

- Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support various financial initiatives. Requirements - Proven experience in regulatory reporting within the banking or financial services industry.

- Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger management.

- Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements and conducting audits.

- Expertise in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation.

- Familiarity with asset liability management and retail banking operations.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

- Strong understanding of compliance requirements in the banking sector.

- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
