Adeia is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our Tax team and play a key role in the company's income tax accounting, compliance, and planning activities. This is a hands-on position with significant ownership and visibility across the tax function of a publicly traded company.
In this role, you will serve as a primary preparer of Adeia's quarterly and annual income tax provision under ASC 740, help lead federal and state income tax compliance, and support SEC tax disclosures, tax forecasting, and technical tax analysis. You will work closely with members of the Tax and Finance teams, external tax advisors, and other business partners while developing broad public-company tax experience.
This opportunity is well suited for a tax professional who has built a strong technical foundation and is ready to take greater ownership of the tax provision and compliance processes while continuing to expand their experience across a sophisticated corporate tax function.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as primary preparer of the quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provision, including supporting calculations, schedules, reconciliations, and documentation
- Support the preparation and review of quarterly and annual SEC income tax disclosures and related provision information requests
- Lead the income tax compliance process in coordination with external service providers, including preparation and review of supporting work papers and taxable income calculations
- Analyze significant book-to-tax differences and tax adjustments, including FDDEI, stock-based compensation, executive compensation under §162(m), depreciation and amortization, and other relevant items
- Prepare tax related journal entries including provision true-ups, reserve accruals and releases, transfer pricing, and other adjustments
- Prepare income tax estimates, extensions, and payments across federal and state jurisdictions
- Prepare multi-state tax apportionment work papers and support state income and franchise tax compliance
- Maintain tax attribute schedules, including net operating losses and tax credits, and reconcile income tax payable and receivable accounts, and deferred tax balances for domestic and foreign subsidiaries
- Maintain and update the tax department calendar
- Support secretary of state and business registrations
- Support cash tax forecasting and effective tax rate modeling
- Assist with responses to notices from taxing authorities and support federal and state income tax audits
- Research federal and state income tax matters and prepare clear, well-supported tax documentation or memoranda as needed

- Attention to detail and accuracy
- 4+ years of relevant corporate income tax experience, gained through public accounting, a corporate tax department or both
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- Hands-on ASC 740 experience, including preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions
- Strong understanding of federal and multi-state corporate income taxation, taxable income calculations, book-to-tax differences, and deferred taxes
- Experience preparing or reviewing multi-state income tax returns and state apportionment work papers
