The Department of Public Works is responsible for delivering a wide variety of capital improvement projects that include construction and rehabilitation of essential City infrastructure, managing municipal facilities and fleet assets, and overseeing sustainable development. Position DutiesSalary range(s) for this classification is $- $ annually. This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.
This is a temporary (Over strength) position that is anticipated to be funded through June 30, 2026, subject to further extension as appropriate. If this position is not extended through the budget process, the city may seek to place you in other internal job opportunities based on your previous work experience.
The Public Works Department is recruiting to fill one (1) full-time Contract Compliance Specialist position. The position reports directly to the Contract Compliance Coordinator and support the Labor Compliance Division.
The Contract Compliance Specialist performs varied professional analytical and investigative duties to interpret, monitor and implement the City's Prevailing Wage and Living Wage Policies and Federal and State labor compliance regulations and standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Interpret, implement, and monitor contracts for compliance with the City, State and Federal regulations related to prevailing and living wage programs and policies
- Administer policy and investigate complaints of labor code violations
- Determine and issue craft classifications on service, maintenance, and construction contracts pursuant to City policy
- Advise City departments on proposal/ bid/ quote preparation to ensure conformance with funding policy regulations
- Attend pre-bid and pre-construction to explain labor compliance requirements
- Create and maintain accurate records for Office databases
- Work with City departments, governmental agencies, contracting community, legal and union organizations regarding labor compliance
- Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, social/behavioral sciences, or related field. - Experience:
Two years of construction contract administration, project management, or labor compliance enforcement experience.
