We serve a diverse range of clients and industries, providing tailored legal services that help our clients navigate complex legal challenges. We are seeking a talented and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team.
Position SummaryThe Human Resources Manager will play a pivotal role in driving HR initiatives, managing employee relations, and enhancing our organizational culture. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing HR policies and programs, overseeing business professionals recruitment and retention strategies, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.
Key Responsibilities HR Leadership & Strategy- Serve as the primary HR advisor to firm leadership
- Develop and implement HR policies and best practices aligned with firm goals
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Manage full-cycle benefits administration, including:
Full range of healthcare and ancillary plans - HSA programs
- Partner with brokers and vendors to optimize benefit offerings
- Independently oversee leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and other statutory leaves)
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters
- Manage performance improvement processes as needed
- Lead business professionals recruiting efforts (non-attorney roles)
- Manage onboarding for both business professionals and attorneys
- Oversee annual business professionals performance review processes
- Supervise HR-related administrative functions
- Ensure effective workforce planning and staffing alignment
Required:
- 5 years of progressive HR experience
- Prior HR experience within a law firm (required)
- Strong knowledge of California employment law
- Hands-on experience with benefits administration, leave management, and recruiting
- Proactive and solutions-oriented leadership style
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification strongly preferred
- Experience managing staff
- Experience with Paylocity
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
