Our client, a global leader in data storage solutions, is seeking an experienced IT Commodity Manager III to lead sourcing strategies for the IT category. In this role, you will be recognized as a sourcing expert for technology-related categories, serving as a liaison with legal teams and acting as a procurement ambassador to the business. You will integrate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure complete alignment with business goals while delivering high-value sourcing partnerships.
This position involves negotiating information technology contracts for software licensing, telecom, data center, computer hardware, and server products, as well as related maintenance and support services. You will develop negotiation strategies, advise on contract terms and conditions, and monitor costs to ensure compliance, value optimization, and pricing improvements.
Key Responsibilities Category Management- Develop, manage, and execute strategies for the IT category.
- Conduct RFP processes, leading cross-functional teams through supplier selection using effective evaluation criteria.
- Collaborate with IT and Legal stakeholders to assess and prioritize business needs.
- Conduct spend, contract, and proposal analyses for technology products and services, presenting recommendations to leadership.
- Lead negotiations on procurement agreements, balancing deliverables, legal interests, and cost optimization.
- Perform market intelligence research to identify cost drivers and trends.
- Manage supplier relationships with a focus on contract compliance and cost management.
- Lead quarterly supplier performance reviews to enhance delivery from strategic partners.
- Mediate supplier issues and resolve disputes.
- Develop supplier rationalization strategies.
- Evaluate and improve lifecycle contract and sourcing processes.
- Ensure negotiated pricing and deliverables are reflected in contracts.
- Serve as a liaison between Legal and the business.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or JD preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in indirect strategic sourcing within a multi-national organization, with emphasis on software, hardware, and telecommunications procurement.
- Strong skills in contract negotiation, vendor management, and stakeholder influence.
- Experience with sourcing and contracting ERP tools such as SAP and/or Oracle.
- Consulting experience a plus.
