About the role

AI is fundamentally reshaping how work gets done. Roku is seeking a Director of Productivity Engineering to lead the strategy, design, and evolution of our enterprise productivity ecosystem. This leader will shape how thousands of employees collaborate, execute, and make decisions by optimizing the systems, workflows, and digital environments that power daily work.

This is a highly strategic role operating at the intersection of technology, employee experience, and operational effectiveness. You will be responsible for building a measurable productivity capability — leveraging data, AI, and modern workplace platforms to reduce friction, improve focus, and unlock organizational capacity. Productivity is a strategic lever for scaling the business.

The ideal candidate is a systems thinker who understands that productivity is not driven by tools alone, but by intentionally designing how work happens.

For California Only — The estimated annual salary for this position is between $350,000 - $474,600 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

What you'll be doing
  • Define and lead Roku’s enterprise productivity strategy, optimizing how work happens across the organization.
  • Engineer a cohesive productivity ecosystem spanning collaboration platforms, workflow tools, knowledge systems, and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Establish productivity telemetry and measurement frameworks that provide leaders with visibility into organizational effectiveness.
  • Identify structural friction in how teams operate and design interventions that improve speed, clarity, and execution.
  • Partner with senior leaders to evolve operating norms that support modern, AI‑enabled ways of working.
  • Drive intelligent adoption of emerging technologies — including AI assistants and automation — to enhance employee effectiveness.
  • Rationalize the productivity technology landscape, reducing complexity while improving employee experience.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing team responsible for enterprise productivity platforms and services.
  • Serve as a thought partner to executive leadership on Roku's future of work.
We're excited if you have
  • 15+ years of experience leading enterprise platforms, digital workplace, productivity, or internal technology products.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience with a track record of building high‑performing teams.
  • Demonstrated success designing operating models or large‑scale workflow improvements.
  • Strong systems thinking with the ability to connect technology decisions to business outcomes.
  • Experience leveraging AI or automation to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Exceptional executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
