About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Open Source Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Linux environments and deep knowledge of High Availability (HA) solutions around MariaDB and Postgres
. The ideal candidate will be passionate about open-source technologies, performance tuning, and database reliability erience with TiDB is highly desirable, though not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support HA/DR solutions for Maria
DB and Postgres environments. - Manage database clusters, replication, backup/restore, failover, and monitoring.
- Optimize query performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and ensure database uptime.
- Work closely with engineering teams to support application integration and scalability.
- Implement automation for provisioning, patching, and upgrades in Linux-based environments.
- Maintain documentation, best practices, and security standards for database operations.
- 8+ years of experience as a DBA with a focus on Maria
DB/MySQL and Postgres
. - Strong hands-on skills in Linux system administration
. - Proven experience implementing HA/DR solutions (Galera Cluster, Patroni, Pacemaker/Corosync, etc.).
- Familiarity with TiDB or other distributed SQL databases is a strong plus.
- Other NEW SQL tools besides TiDB are Cockroach
DB, Yugabyte, Clustrix, MemSQL - Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Percona Monitoring, etc.).
- Scripting knowledge (Bash, Python, or Ansible) for automation.
- Solid understanding of database security, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
