Team Overview

Established in 2023, the Byte Dance Seed team is dedicated to pioneering new paths toward artificial general intelligence. We aspire to advance the frontier of intelligence to drive progress for both technology and society. With a long‑term vision for the AI sector, the team's research spans MLLM, Gen Media, AI for Science, and Robotics, and our technology powers over 50 application scenarios, including Doubao, Jimeng, TRAE, Dola and Dreamnia, serving enterprise customers through Volcano Engine and Byte Plus.

• Conduct cutting‑edge research and development in foundation model, unified model and multimodal machine learning, especially in generative AI (image, video, or 3D generation).
• Develop foundation models to enhance strategic advantages for Byte Dance products.

Minimum Qualifications:

• PhD or recent completion in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong algorithm and programming skills; proficiency in Python and PyTorch.
• Ability to work and collaborate effectively with team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Publications in top venues such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, SIGGRAPH or Multimedia.
• Hands‑on coding experience in deep learning frameworks and large‑scale training.
• Experience with large‑scale image and video processing and curation involving foundation models.

Base salary range: $244,800 – $450,000 annually. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, and location. The role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.
