Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in executive communication and stakeholder management.
  • Experience delivering and scaling leadership development programs.
Preferred qualifications
  • 10 years managing large-scale, dynamic technical projects in the software engineering domain.
  • 10 years of experience in product or technical program management across complex organizations.
  • 5 years of experience leading and growing teams within technical program management or equivalent roles.
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities and varying deadlines.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company.

You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will drive large-scale, strategic initiatives by taking a data-centric approach to program management and data analysis. You will excel at creating and scaling new initiatives, articulating program success, and delivering impactful results by collaborating with and influencing technical leaders.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure se are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems.

As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $163000 - $237000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior engineering leadership to define and execute end-to-end strategic programs that drive the organization’s technical roadmap.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including HR and professional development teams, to build strategic initiatives that support senior technical leaders.
  • Utilize a data-centric approach to develop real-time dashboards and performance metrics to monitor program success and organizational impact.
  • Lead technical experiments and scale successful pilots into broad initiatives that deliver measurable results across the company.
  • Influence and build trusting relationships with senior stakeholders to advocate for organizational change and communicate strategic progress.
