Position OverviewThis role supports, enhances, and optimizes enterprise applications by analyzing business processes, translating functional requirements into system specifications, coordinating testing efforts, and acting as a key resource for cross‑functional stakeholders. This role provides functional user support, manages system integrity, conducts user testing, and collaborates cross‑functionally to ensure applications meet organizational needs. Success in this role encompasses technical expertise, communication skills, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities- Leads robust documentation and testing activities to accurately capture and assess functional processes, system configurations, and application performance.
- Partners with technical teams to translate functional requirements into system specifications to meet organizational needs.
- Performs gap analyses to identify discrepancies between current systems and business requirements. Recommends solutions for optimization.
- Monitors application availability and performance. Resolves or escalates discrepancies in accordance with project governance processes.
- Coordinates with vendors and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Tracks progress and develops reports for distribution.
- Analyses and models business processes to identify opportunities to increase efficiencies.
- Compiles and analyzes reports to support business insights and system monitoring.
- Works under limited supervision with latitude for independent judgment; regularly completes assignments with little or no assistance.
- Troubleshoots and resolves routine and some complex application issues and escalates as needed.
- Administers user access to assigned systems.
- Builds and maintains relationships with staff, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Liaises between stakeholders and ITS teams to ensure shared understanding of requirements and project goals. Regularly presents reports and relevant data.
- Ensures data integrity and security through regular audits and compliance checks.
- Mentors junior staff and acts as a key resource.
- Maintains high level of adherence to cybersecurity principles, ethics practices, and company policies.
- Required to complete occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines or address emergencies as needed.
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years of relevant professional experience.
- Holds relevant certifications required for the team's need or directed by management.
- Ability to document business processes and translate requirements into functional specifications.
- Knowledge of business analysis methodologies, including gap analysis and solution design.
- Experience coordinating testing efforts and supporting application integrations.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements and internal control frameworks (e.g., SOX).
- Proficient in process modeling and workflow documentation.
- Working knowledge of SQL and data analysis.
- Experience with application upgrades and integrations.
- Working knowledge of ERP, HRIS, and CRM systems.
- Experience with SAS in enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL 4 processes preferred.
- Strong collaboration skills for working with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
The Functional Analyst may support multiple enterprise applications, or they may be assigned to a specific applications team. Enterprise application systems include but are not limited to finance, emergency notifications, HRIS, data management, and infrastructure operations.
