Location: Hybrid - San Jose, CA
Our client, a leader in Enterprise Software and Data Infrastructure, is looking for a skilled BI Engineer to join their team for a 6-month engagement. This project involves participating in the development of Business Intelligence solutions to meet the analytical needs of Commercial Organizations (Finance, CRM, Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing). This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables- Develop robust Business Intelligence solutions tailored to the needs of commercial organizations (Finance, Sales, Marketing).
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models, demonstrating expert data modeling skills.
- Evaluate business requirements, conduct Proofs of Concept (POCs), and proactively identify data anomalies within source systems.
- Perform end-to-end data validation for BI solutions, ensuring high-quality data delivery.
- Develop and performance tune complex SQL (PL/SQL and/or T-SQL) queries and stored procedures.
- Create strategic design and mapping of business requirements to system/technical requirements.
- Communicate, translate, and simplify business requirements to ensure buy-in from all stakeholders.
- Manage batch processes using scripting languages such as Pearl, Unix, or Python.
- 7-10 years of experience in Database Development using Packages/Stored Procedures/Triggers in SQL and PL/SQL.
- 7-10 years of experience in Dimensional Modeling, including Star and Snowflake Schemas design and maintaining dimensions using Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD).
- 7+ years of experience in SQL performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Deep expertise in expert data modeling skills, covering conceptual, logical, and physical model design. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage multiple time-sensitive assignments, and handle ad-hoc requests effectively to meet project goals.
- Effective and positive communication and team working skills.
- Familiarity with project tracking tools like Jira and Github.
- Experience with source systems like Salesforce (SOQL), Net Suite, or any other CRM.
