The Technical Support Engineer provides system-level technical expertise in support of semiconductor handler and die-level prober equipment platforms.
This role serves as a second-level technical escalation resource for customers and field service personnel, helping diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues remotely and on-site.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide advanced remote and on-site troubleshooting support for semiconductor handler and die-level prober equipment.
- Deliver second-level troubleshooting assistance to customers and field service personnel by phone, video conference, remote access tools, and web-based resources.
- Support escalated equipment issues after standard troubleshooting methods have already been attempted.
- Develop unique troubleshooting approaches based on system knowledge, failure symptoms, and customer conditions.
- Be available for escalation calls, including occasional after-hours or weekend support when required.
- Provide maintenance training to customers, technicians, and field service personnel.
- Act as a knowledge multiplier by taking factory or division-level training, improving it, and transferring that knowledge to the field.
- Help improve service procedures, troubleshooting guides, and customer support processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience using, supporting, troubleshooting, or maintaining semiconductor handlers, die-level probers, wafer probers, or similar semiconductor automation equipment.
- Experience supporting customer-facing technical issues in a field service, applications, equipment support, or technical escalation environment.
- Ability to travel as needed for customer support, training, escalation management, or new product deployment.
- Experience supporting active thermal control systems or thermal control units.
- Experience with high- and low-temperature semiconductor test environments.
- Hands-on experience with die-level probers, wafer probers, semiconductor handlers, or related mechanical test automation equipment.
