Staff Security Engineer Manager
There's no such thing as a "safe system" - only safer systems. Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. In this role, you will lead our Cloud Security Controls (CSC) focus area, driving outcomes for key security risk reduction and developer and AI enablement on Cloud programs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of engineers focused on securing Alphabet's multi-cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform, Cloud Computing Platform), providing clear goal and strategic direction to drive high-impact outcomes.
- Work with Team Leads to define and implement the strategy for cloud security controls including building new controls and approaches alongside enforcing them, well-lit paths, and baseline standards that balance developer velocity with security risk mitigation.
- Drive alignment by partnering within Privacy, Safety, and Security and across and Cloud (Cloud CISO and Product teams) to ensure consistent enforcement of security controls.
- Oversee proactive uplift strategies to continuously enhance security controls across cloud initiatives and ensure alignment with evolving standards.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $207000 - $301000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits.
