The Opportunity

The Research and AI team builds foundational generative AI models and applications for Adobe products, enabling customers to ideate, build, and scale content in new ways.

The role of Principal PM involves defining and advancing foundational generative capabilities in image and video. These building blocks support Adobe’s creative offerings for professionals, creators, and businesses. You will build capabilities that impact every segment of the Adobe ecosystem, from photo editing in Photoshop to ad creation in Express. This is a technical, influential position at the intersection of applied science and product development.

You will work closely with model researchers to explore new possibilities and align with surface teams to deliver capabilities that enhance customer outcomes.

What you’ll Do
  • Define and lead the roadmap for core generative AI capabilities across various customer segments and product areas.
  • Work alongside model researchers to guide research direction, set quality benchmarks, and transform early-stage capabilities into market‑ready requirements.
  • Develop deep customer insights by interpreting needs from creative professionals, creators, and business users into strategic decisions.
  • Work together with Adobe product partners to guarantee smooth integration and tangible customer results.
  • Build an evidence‑based view on quality, cost, and latency, making strategic trade‑off decisions.
  • Provide expert feedback on model quality and build scalable evaluation frameworks.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape and find opportunities to differentiate.
  • Establish feedback loops to ensure customer value is realized.
What you need to succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of product management experience, particularly in AI/ML or research environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge to engage with model researchers about architecture, quality metrics, and tradeoffs.
  • Authentic understanding of varied user requirements and the skill to convert them into practical approaches.
  • Detailed problem solver with the ability to connect individual capabilities to a broader platform.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills to drive alignment across teams.
  • Comfort operating in research environments with evolving success definitions and timelines.
  • In‑depth understanding of the GenAI landscape and its future trajectory.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with generative imaging or video models.
  • Experience building tools for creatives and designers.
