Sr. Storage Administrator

Perform all aspects of SAN & NAS storage administration of a heterogeneous storage environment and assist in the configuration and management of such. In addition to performing day-to-day operational support, the candidate will be required to work with storage vendors and data center teams for installation/upgrade of storage arrays and SAN devices. Storage provisioning, SAN driver installations and upgrades, performance monitoring/tuning, capacity management and general system trouble‑shooting will be integral part of this job.

The candidate will be responsible for managing the HDS storage subsystems, microcode upgrades on storage arrays and FC switches and ensuring they are line with current SAN and NAS storage standards. The candidate will also manage the Storage Area Management/SRM solution on a day‑to‑day basis, performing upgrades, troubleshooting and functionality enhancements of this environment. The candidate will work closely with system, database and SAP administrators and different IT business teams in designing and architecting storage solutions to meet their business requirements.

The candidate will also ensure all underlying SAN storage is configured and performing optimally to meet specific application and business function needs. Candidate should be a solid team player and able to work effectively with cross‑functional global teams. Good communication skills and project management experience will be required for this position. The candidate will be required to carry on‑call pager on rotation or as needed.

• BS degree (or equivalent) and minimum 5‑7 years overall experience in storage and systems administration. Prior extensive experience in a large SAN & NAS production support & mission critical environment.
• Experience with architecting, deploying and managing SAN‑attached high‑end and mid‑range storage platforms like Hitachi Data Systems VSP, USPV, AMS
  2500 series.
• Good understanding and hands‑on experience with Hitachi Universal Replicator, True Copy, Shadow Image, Hitachi Dynamic provisioning, Universal Volume Manager.
• Strong hands‑on experience with NAS devices, particularly Net App filers & Isilon storage clusters and related technologies (Snap Mirror, Snapshots & Snap Vault).
• Hands‑on experience in designing and implementing Fibre‑channel SAN fabrics with Brocade DCX switches and solid understanding of FC protocol.
• Solid experience with volume‑management software and file systems (Veritas Volume Manager, DMP, VxFS) and other multipathing software across heterogeneous operating systems.
• Strong exposure and hands‑on experience with IBM AIX, Solaris, Linux, VMware and Windows operating systems. Exposure to IBM p770, VIO, LPARS, NPIV preferred.
• Knowledge of different disk and file systems, performance measuring and benchmarking tools.
• Ability to gather requirements, design, plan, problem‑solve, perform technical analysis of business problems and present to management.
• Analytical ability to resolve complex issues in a fast‑paced and challenging SAN storage environment.
• Familiarity and hands‑on experience with SAN storage management product (Hi‑command device manager, tuning manager) an extra advantage.
• Hands‑on experience with Veritas clustering, RAC or other high‑availability solutions.
• Shell scripting experience an extra advantage.
• Prior experience supporting ERP, Oracle, CRM, DW and other enterprise applications system & storage infrastructure is a plus.
