POSITION SUMMARY
The District Executive Director, Information Technology Services and Solutions (ITSS) reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor, Information Technology Services and Support. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., as a full‑time, 12‑month per year classified management position.
POSITION PURPOSE
Under general direction, the Executive Director plans, organizes, directs and integrates a major functional section of the ITSS department; plans, develops, acquires, implements, and operates software application systems, the physical technology environment and enterprise data administration; develops information architecture and standards in collaboration with college partners; ensures security of systems and networks; oversees district‑wide user support; oversees bond‑funded projects related to network and infrastructure developments;
researches emerging and innovative technologies; and performs other related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Plans, directs, controls, integrates and evaluates the work and activities of the ITSS department in planning, development, acquisition, implementation and operation of software application systems, data center infrastructure, enterprise server systems, phone systems/services and distributed IT operations.Directs, integrates and evaluates enterprise resource infrastructure, networks and information systems including data centers, networks, telecommunications, virtualization, threat management, incident response and disaster recovery; develops and implements ERP applications including Ellucian and cloud‑based applications.Develops and coordinates district‑wide short‑ and long‑term plans for technology infrastructure development, maintenance, and support services; defines strategic goals, objectives and high‑level requirements consistent with the District Technology Master Plan.Establishes standards for acquisition, acceptance, installation, maintenance and repair of hardware and software; monitors compliance; directs and participates in evaluation, cost analysis, selection, testing and implementation of all computer, network, server and telecommunications‑related systems; recommends purchase decisions; manages vendors and professional service providers.Develops and maintains standards for acquisition, acceptance, cleansing, storage and custody of district data; ensures compliance with privacy, data security, accessibility and other legal requirements; ensures accuracy of data and provides technical support for production and transmission of all state and federal mandated data and reporting, including MIS data.Conducts risk assessments to identify system vulnerabilities and develops appropriate methods for mitigating risk; analyzes, recommends, implements and monitors the effectiveness of the district’s security architecture, programs, policies and procedures; develops data recovery and continuity management plans and protocols.Provides technical advice and guidance to district and college administrators, faculty and staff, and technology groups on the design, installation, modification and operation of college‑based information and communication systems projects and equipment.Directs the allocation of resources to achieve timely outcomes and measurable goals within budget; recommends IT spending and participates in collaborative resource planning processes; oversees inventory of…
