Compensation: USD 85,000 - USD 90,000 per year.
Job DescriptionEngineering and administration of systems for various projects and operations, including server installation and modernization, virtualization, storage, infrastructure automation, and security management.
Responsibilities- Engineer systems administration solutions.
- Install, rebuild, and configure servers, hardware, peripherals, services, directories, and storage.
- Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM).
- Handle storage management (Netapp, Dell/EMC, Pure Storage).
- Support infra automation tooling such as Ansible.
- Maintain system inventory with GLPI.
- Manage network equipment (Cisco, Mellanox).
- Install and configure systems for infrastructure and R&D.
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
- Configure and maintain storage equipment and troubleshoot vendors.
- Install and configure EDA tools, FlexLM licenses, and troubleshoot software issues.
- Contribute to system standards and security posture.
- Research and recommend automated approaches for system administration.
- Apply security patches on operational and development systems.
- Report security patch compliance.
- Perform daily system and application monitoring, log review, and scheduled job verification.
- Conduct regular security monitoring for intrusions.
- Perform daily backup operations and manage media, including off‑site storage.
- Manage file archival and purging.
- Create, change, and delete user accounts as requested.
- Provide Tier III support and troubleshoot as needed.
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.
- Apply OS patches and upgrades; upgrade administrative tools.
- Configure and deploy JIRA, Git, LDAP, Jenkins, and VMware environments.
- Upgrade system software supporting infrastructure applications.
- Maintain procedures for operations and configuration.
- Perform performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization.
- Provide after‑hours and weekend support as required.
- Extensive VMware administration experience, including Jenkins, GIT, and Dev Ops tooling.
- Experience with Cisco network equipment.
- 7+ years of Linux systems administration, including shell scripting, cron jobs, log analysis, user/group management, iptables configuration, and mail services setup.
- Strong multitasking ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- CompTIA Security+ (SY0-301) or equivalent DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II certification required.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and move servers between data centers and labs.
- Experience installing new hardware or migrating existing servers (rack and stack).
