Tech Writer

Piper Companies is seeking a Technical Writer to support an organization within the infrastructure and engineering industry. The Technical Writer role is designed for a professional with experience in networking and IT automation who can translate complex systems into clear, structured documentation and maintain a centralized knowledge base.

The Technical Writer role is a remote, long term contract opportunity.

• Document network architectures, automation workflows, and infrastructure as code (IaC)
• Create process maps, SOPs, and operational playbooks with SMEs
• Manage and organize Confluence spaces, templates, and documentation
• Translate technical concepts into user-friendly guides
• Maintain document version control and accuracy
• Collaborate with engineering, Dev Ops, and IT teams

• 3+ years of technical writing experience in IT, networking, or engineering
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls)
• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD)
• Proficiency with Visio, Lucidchart, or Draw.io and Confluence
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Agile/Scrum and Jira/Git Hub experience preferred

• $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
