Senior Business /Data Analyst- Corporate Finance
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business / Data Analyst with deep expertise in Finance Analytics to serve as a bridge between key business stakeholders and technical data teams. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor, partnering with finance leadership and operational teams to gather, refine, and translate complex financial requirements into scalable data and analytics solutions.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong mastery of core SaaS/financial metrics (e.g., ARR, ACV, Revenue Recognition/Reporting), hands-on technical proficiency with SQL and data warehouse environments, and exceptional stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities- Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory:
- Act as a primary liaison and trusted advisor to Finance leadership, Revenue Operations, and Strategic Planning teams.
- Facilitate discovery workshops to capture, synthesize, and refine business requirements and use cases into clear functional and technical specifications.
- Finance Domain & Metric Definition:
- Define, standardize, and document key financial performance indicators including ARR
, ACV
, Bookings
, Recognized Revenue
, Churn
, and Expansion
. - Ensure consistency in metric logic, business rules, and reporting definitions across enterprise data platforms.
- Data Analysis & Requirements Translation:
- Perform deep-dive data exploratory analysis using SQL to validate assumptions, assess data quality, and map data flows.
- Translate high-level business goals into precise user stories, source-to-target data mappings, logic rules, and dashboard wireframes for engineering teams.
- Data Warehouse & Analytics Enablement:
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and BI teams to design efficient data models and dimensional frameworks within the Data Warehouse.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validating output accuracy against core financial models before production release.
Qualifications & Skills
- Finance Domain Expertise: Strong grasp of corporate finance and SaaS business metrics (ARR, ACV, Monthly/Annual Revenue Recognition, Net Retention Rate).
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills; proven ability to guide business partners through requirement prioritization.
- Technical Proficiency:
- SQL: Strong hands-on experience querying large datasets, writing complex joins, aggregations, and data validation queries.
- Data Warehousing: Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts (dimensional modeling, star schemas, staging vs. reporting layers, Snowflake/Big Query/Redshift exposure).
- BI & Visualization: Familiarity with modern BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to prototype reports and model user flows.
- Problem Solving & Analytical Thinking: Ability to uncover root causes in data discrepancies and present structured, actionable solutions.
- Experience: 8+ years in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Analytics Consultant role focused specifically on Financial / Revenue Analytics.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business Analytics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
The estimated pay range for this position is USD $60.00/Hr.
