Application Engineer (Contract)
This Application Engineer will be responsible for the developing application, support, monitoring, and administration of the cloud applications, on-premise applications and integrations to it. The candidate will also provide support for various IT applications by troubleshooting, implementing bug fixes and root cause analysis. This position is an Individual Contributor.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Jira data center application running in cloud AWS
- Analyze logs and debug issues in Java, JVM running on Linux server
- Develop new Jira customization using java or Groovy.
- Perform administration of Atlassian applications
- Investigate, troubleshoot and fix issues related to Atlassian apps, application servers.
- Build automation for repetitive tasks through scripting and integrations with SAAS applications.
- Document standards, guidelines and standard operating procedures for admins/users of the system.
- Design, build, and support applications and system integrations using Programming Languages
- Perform daily systems monitoring, verifying integrity and availability of critical services
- Develop, document and maintain standard operating procedures and/or scripts for automation of processes
- Learn new tools and technologies to support new applications
- Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering or related field
- 2+ years of Java, Groovy and Shell development experience
- 2+ years of experience working with Databases (Oracle/MySQL/Postgres)
- 2+ years of experience working in the Linux environment.
- Familiarity with AWS and cloud technologies such as EC2, RDS, load balancer, AWS backup, Cloud Formation and Cloud Watch
- Familiarity or potential to learn Jira data center administration
