The US base salary range for this full-time position is $282,900 - $330,000 + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits determined by role, level, and location. Position reports to the Google San Jose, California office & may allow for a hybrid schedule per Google policy. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
ResponsibilitiesLead your hardware engineering team by setting priorities and providing consistent performance coaching and feedback
Develop the long-term hardware roadmap by collaborating with internal partners and external vendors to align on strategic goals
Evaluate the feasibility of hardware designs against product requirements, customizing solutions based on performance, power, and technology trade-offs
Analyze complex hardware issues, risks, and trade-offs to drive corrective solutions for ambiguous or novel failures
Review and approve hardware design, architecture, and technology development activities across multiple complex product lines
Direct performance measurements and simulations to optimize user experience and lead continuous design and process improvement initiatives
International and domestic travel of more than 10% is required.
