We are seeking a Physical Security Systems Engineer 2 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.

Responsibilities

As a Physical Security Systems Engineer 2 , you should be able to quickly and thoroughly understand customers’ needs and translate that into a system design, define systems implementation and adoption plans that can be deployed at the customers’ premises, on cloud or at a global scale. This role requires hands on and in the field experience with physical security solutions and systems (ACS, VMS, IDS), networking and deployment best practices.

This role allows the opportunity to become an expert in one or more technology sets in Physical Security:
Access Control, Video Management (CCTV) and Unified Systems, Intrusion Detection, Perimeter Detection Systems, Biometrics and Devices Detection Systems and more. Develop further expertise on vendor software and hardware products, establish and foster vendor relationships, collaborate and work closely with vendor product teams to provide product evaluation feedback and contribute to improving deployed solutions for our customers. Have an understanding of the IT environments needed to operate in and collaborate with network security teams to securely deploy the best solutions.

M.C. Dean provides exciting opportunities to collaborate with teams of Security and Systems Engineers, Technical Specialists, Project Managers, Technicians, System Administrators and other cross-functional teams.

Here's what your typical project will look like:
  • Research, design and evaluate existing and new physical security solutions against defined requirements and industry best practices.
  • Design and develop physical security solutions engineering drawings (CAD/REVIT or others).
  • Setup, configuration and integration of security solutions in lab and production environments.
  • Perform and manage Pre-Installation, Test and Check-Out (PITCO) on systems designs and equipment in a lab/pre-deployment setting.
  • Ensure test lab equipment and software is maintained and kept up to date.
  • Develop procedures, setup and configuration guides and playbooks to be followed during deployment and commissioning on site.
  • Collaborate with installation, deployment, administration and other cross-functional teams to define standards, provide recommendations and guidance on solution deployments, resolve issues, and improve systems’ features.
  • Asist with on-site solutions deployments and commissioning.
  • Develop detailed procedures to validate system configuration, data input and data migration. Ensure high data quality ingestion in new and existing systems.
  • Organize and prepare detailed documentation of solutions designs, features, test plans, solutions and pilot summaries, deployment plants, configuration and administration guides.
