Paralegal

Description

Join a small, collaborative legal team as a Paralegal supporting real estate litigation and transactional work at our law firm. We are seeking a certified Paralegal with a proactive work ethic and exceptional initiative for a contract-to-hire opportunity. Flexible scheduling is available: choose full-time with on-site/in-person and remote options, or part-time fully remote at six hours per day.

Responsibilities:

+ Support attorneys' mostly in real estate litigation and on transactional matters

+ Prepare and manage templates and basic pleadings

+ Perform e-filing and calendaring for case management

+ Assist with discovery and respond to motions (prior motion-drafting is a plus, but not required)

+ Regularly communicate with clients for information/responses

+ Create and organize legal files; in-office work will include secretarial duties and handling physical files

+ Utilize knowledge of California law and court processes

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Paralegal certification required

+ 3-5 years' experience in a law firm setting with civil litigation (real estate litigation highly preferred)

+ Demonstrated go-getter attitude, with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative

+ Proficiency in California state legal procedures, e-filing, discovery, and calendaring

+ Experience working independently and as part of a small team

+ Comfortable contributing to both paralegal and secretarial functions in a hands-on office environment
