- Requires experience buying small component parts, hard drives and cables.
- Needs familiarity with the standard distribution suppliers.
- MRP experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of a PO system (no specific one required).
- Ensures timely order placement of product or service requirements from pre-selected sources of supply. Issues releases against pre-established blanket purchase orders.
- Provides follow-up information on delivery schedule status.
- Prepares and maintains reports and files.
- Provides general assistance to Buyers and Section Managers in routine purchasing activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of direct purchasing experience;
- Requires knowledge of purchasing systems and procedures.
- Word processing and spreadsheet skills highly desirable;
- Electronic component experience, preferred
