Job Purpose

This position is the highest level Material planning. The Master Scheduler will create and maintain a valid master schedule for material and capacities by effectively balancing supply and demand for product. This individual will respond to Customer and Program Management demand/forecasts which drives all purchasing, manufacturing, NPI, prototyping and related engineering activities, while facing challenges of a lack of defined processes, data integrity, and effective information systems.

The Scheduler will develop, implement, and improve processes, tools, and systems in collaboration with the customer, supply chain team and plant organization.

Nature Of Duties/Responsibilities
  • Creates, maintains and verifies the Master Schedule and interfaces with customer, Program Managers, Operations and Engineering Staff, as well as Finance to resolve materials and labor constraints, backlogs and any other potential schedule interruptions.
  • Assists in the evaluation of scheduling priorities within the total site requirements needed to support fluctuating demands in sales & supply.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement of Planning and Control systems.
  • Oversees the master schedule and ensures comprehensive compliance with materials requirements for prototyping and manufacturing.
  • Reviews capacity performance and recommends necessary changes as needed.
  • Creates and maintains a valid Capacity Requirements plan, supporting the Master Schedule.
  • Works with Buyer/Planners and management to provide solutions to problems in meeting the Material Plan in order to ensure that the Master Schedule is achieved.
  • Supports purchase order placement and materials arrival tracking with vendors, and works with customer and Program Management in the approval of PO placement exceeding required thresholds, managing potential risks of PPV, Excess Inventory, and other materials exposure.
  • Prepares shortage analysis for discontinued items and coordinates exit strategy with Customer and Program Managers.
  • Creates analysis of demand data to identify trends for master schedule inputs, variance reporting and waterfall interpretation.
  • Develops Master Scheduling business process; establishes planning cycle and time horizons.
  • Develops scheduling methodology that delivers a stable schedule while still providing agility when needed to support customer requirements.
  • Compiles and reports weekly schedule metrics.
  • Effectively communicates scheduling exceptions to Customers, Operations and Program Managers.
  • Resolves demand/supply/capacity issues.
  • Maintains and is responsible for all forecast accuracy and production level loading based on available supply and production capacity.
  • Creates what if scenarios.
  • Handles ECN and ECO management.
  • Prepares excess and obsolete analysis related to ECN management, demand changes, etc.
Education And Experience

Bachelors Degree in Business or Engineering with APICS certification.

8+ years experience as a Master Scheduler/Planner Buyer or equivalent.

Solid understanding of productive process capacity and materials planning.

Ideal candidate must have strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent Oracle 11i, MS-Excel, MS-Office and MRP knowledge is a must.

Advanced knowledge on Kinaxis Rapid Response Advanced Planning System to assist with planning tool development/enhancement.

Understanding of process flows and continuous improvement.

Experience on forward and reverse logistics (NPI, Prototyping, Direct Fulfillment & Repair) is a plus.

Salary Range (annual): $80,000 - $100,000.

Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business, and may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
