Project Manager

Super Micro Computer, Inc. is seeking a proactive Project Manager to support our growing AI servers and peripherals, particularly the power supply project. Our team is committed to rapid growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences, requiring candidates who can adapt to a dynamic environment and handle uncertainty during this rapid expansion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project Strategy & Procurement Alignment:
    Collaborate with RD and engineering teams to support new product development (NPI) and ensure procurement lead times match product development milestones and launch dates. Assess supplier capabilities, scalability, and sustainability, and provide supply chain insights to cross-functional teams to guide supplier selection and risk mitigation during the NPI phase. Maintain a deep understanding of the product lifecycle, key features, and market positioning.
  • Procurement & Vendor Management:
    Analyze demand forecasts, inventory levels, orders, and market trends; formulate procurement plans and supplier shipment targets designed to meet customer requirements while minimizing the accumulation of excess or obsolete inventory. Provide suppliers with stable purchase orders and accurate shipment targets; establish systematic monitoring mechanisms to track supplier material readiness, thereby assisting them in ensuring and delivering reliable on-time performance. Optimize and monitor the execution of weekly supplier shipment plans to minimize the risk of future shortages and ensure high inventory turnover.

    Analyze and resolve issues related to product backlog and order fulfillment rates; identify potential problem areas and drive cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions, thereby minimizing and preventing the accumulation of obsolete inventory.
  • Supply Chain Planning & Coordinating:
    Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to optimize production planning, ensuring that output aligns with production schedules and overall operational growth objectives. Analyze company demand forecasts and optimize procurement strategies in a timely manner to meet the company's dynamic business requirements and product launch plans. Oversee and assist suppliers in developing and implementing effective strategies for the proper management of long-lead-time and specialized materials.
  • Process Improvement & Strategic Planning:
    Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, supplier collaboration, and cost efficiency. Implement best practices to optimize resource utilization and cost savings. Support cross-functional teams in forecasting, demand planning, and risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or related field; PMP certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management or procurement within electronics or server hardware industries.
  • Familiar with the hardware development lifecycle (EVT / DVT / PVT / MP) and capable of accurately identifying material-related risks at each stage.
  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in vendor negotiations, particularly with suppliers in Asia. Mandarin speaking is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook), PowerPoint, SQL (Big Query, joins, aggregations, window functions), Python (Pandas, Num Py, Scikit-learn), PySpark Analytics & Statistics. Familiarity with server architecture and component-level integration is a plus.

Salary Range $75,000 - $100,000 The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
