Project Manager
Super Micro Computer, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the end-to-end supply chain of materials for assigned projects. In this role, you will coordinate closely with sales, internal stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure materials arrive on time to support customer production schedules. You will also drive cost optimization for the materials under your responsibility. Preference will be given to candidates with technical familiarity with mechanical components, particularly those used in liquid cooling systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the full supply chain of materials for assigned projects, ensuring timely availability of required components.
- Gather and act on the latest information from sales and internal teams regarding customer payment status and production plan dates.
- Plan, order, and expedite materials to meet production schedules while balancing inventory and lead times.
- Continuously optimize material costs through supplier negotiation, alternative sourcing, volume planning, and process improvements.
- Coordinate with logistics, warehouse, accounting, and other internal departments on shipping, receiving, inventory, invoices, and related matters.
- Handle RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) processes and resolve supply-related issues promptly.
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation and status updates for all materials under management.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA is a plus.
- 2-4 years experience in project management or procurement within mechanical components or server hardware industries.
- Basic understanding of mechanical components manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards.
- Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience in vendor negotiations, particularly with suppliers in Asia.
- Mandarin speaking is a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a problem-solving mindset.
- Proficiency in ERP applications and Microsoft Office tools such as SAP, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Technical knowledge of mechanical parts, ideally related to liquid cooling systems or similar components is a plus.
Salary Range $95,000 - $110,000 The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
