Salary: $28.43 per hour
Location: Onsite
FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt

Position SummaryThe Floor/Utility Technician is responsible for cleaning and restoring tile, carpet and other flooring surfaces. Employees perform stripping, waxing, scrubbing, buffing, carpet cleaning and other restorative tasks for assigned areas.
Typical Duties- Schedule floor tasks with supervisor or lead.
- Inspect and prepare equipment and chemicals for scheduled procedures.
- Complete floor tasks and perform a quality review of the project.
- Secure all equipment at task completion.
- Request necessary repairs and install local outlet tags when required.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- One year of custodial work experience.
- Effective communication skills and ability to respond to customer requests.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions for chemical and equipment use.
- Experience with custodial equipment such as scrubbers and buffers.
- Strong written communication skills using appropriate business English.
- Computer literacy, including use of business software and the internet.
- Human‑relations skills to build effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated customer service, problem‑solving, and common‑sense skills.

CertificationsValid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements- Maneuvering in and around the worksite.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Bending, kneeling, reaching, and stooping.
- Lifting boxes or equipment up to 35 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Pushing or pulling objects such as vacuums, carts, and mops.
- May be required to push or pull equipment up to 70 pounds.
- Grasping both small and large objects.
- Climbing ladders and/or step stools.
Work performed in an office environment or at customer locations including commissaries, federal courthouses, and military bases. Employees may be exposed to toxic chemicals, noise, and temperature extremes.
