Job DescriptionMicrochip Technology Inc. is a leading provider of embedded control applications. Our product portfolio comprises general purpose and specialized 8‑bit, 16‑bit, and 32‑bit microcontrollers, 32‑bit microprocessors, field‑programmable gate array (FPGA) products, a broad spectrum of high‑performance linear, mixed‑signal, power management, thermal management, radio frequency (RF), timing, safety, security, wired connectivity and wireless connectivity devices, as well as serial Electrically Erasable Programmable Read‑Only Memory (EEPROM), Serial Flash memories, Parallel Flash memories, and serial Static Random Access Memory (SRAM).
We also license Flash‑IP solutions that are incorporated in a broad range of products.
Microchip Technology Inc. has a Material Handler opening based in San Jose, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for the duties below.
Responsibilities- Processing of all WIP incoming lots (CI lots) per specification.
- All outgoing WIP inventories that will go to Configurable Bank and/or Finish Goods.
- Support WIP tracking and system movements of production lots when operators are not able to.
- Troubleshoot problem lots, per procedure.
- Maintain the physical and system hold and releases of all WIP lots, per procedure.
- Support the need to cross‑train when coverage is needed on the test floor.
- Adherence to all company policies, including Quality, Attendance, and overall work Performance.
- Must follow and comply on all safety guidelines.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
- With at least 1 year of experience working as a material handler or equivalent.
- Proficient in operating computer terminals. Experience working with MES, AX2012 WIP tracking system is a plus.
- Able to lift, carry, sort, push, pull, or sort items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable with physical tasks such as standing, sitting, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, and frequent use of hands for grasping and fine manipulation throughout the workday.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; able to work with tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment.
- Consistently follows all health and safety regulations.
- Must be a team player, and support overtime work as needed.
