Test Technician
This role focuses on calibrating, testing, and preparing scientific instruments for shipment while serving as the first line of troubleshooting for equipment issues. You will work hands-on with a variety of test equipment and laboratory hardware, contributing to both day-to-day operations and ongoing process improvement activities.
Responsibilities- Follow established procedures to calibrate a range of instruments and ensure they meet required performance specifications.
- Test instruments using appropriate test equipment and hardware to verify functionality and quality before shipping.
- Prepare instruments for shipment, including final checks, documentation, and packaging in accordance with internal standards.
- Provide first-line troubleshooting to diagnose problems with instruments and related equipment.
- Identify root causes of equipment issues and collaborate with team members to implement effective solutions.
- Participate in group problem-solving sessions to resolve technical challenges and improve workflows.
- Contribute to process improvement activities aimed at increasing efficiency, accuracy, and reliability in calibration and testing.
- Work safely and consistently within established engineering and laboratory practices when handling centrifuges, plate readers, and other hardware.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues regarding equipment status, test results, and any issues identified during calibration or troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with instrument calibration in a technical or laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and test equipment issues.
- Experience working with engineering test equipment and hardware testing processes.
- Practical experience with centrifuges and plate readers.
- Familiarity with chemistry concepts relevant to liquid handling and laboratory instrumentation.
- Experience with liquid handling equipment such as Beckman, Agilent, and Hamilton systems.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in calibration and testing tasks.
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior work experience with calibration, automation, centrifuges, and plate readers.
- Experience working with laboratory automation systems and liquid handling platforms.
- Comfort working with a variety of scientific instruments and related hardware.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to participate in team-based problem solving and process improvement.
- Effective communication skills for sharing findings and coordinating with technical colleagues.

WorkEnvironment
The role is based inside a warehouse facility equipped with air conditioning and heating, providing a controlled and comfortable indoor work environment. You work directly with scientific and engineering equipment such as test instruments, centrifuges, plate readers, and liquid handling systems. The setting is oriented around technical tasks, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting, with access to the tools and equipment needed to perform these activities safely and effectively.
JobType & Location
This is a Contract position based out of San Jose, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.46 - $25.46/hr.
