Current RN license in the state of practice required.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor required.
Must-Have:
Current Epic experience.
Description:
Responsible for the pre and post-operative care for patients with a variety of health care needs and disease processes. Care includes technical skills, equipment, assessment, pre and post education, and discharge in a fast‑paced environment. Identifies common recurrent patient problems, symptoms, and behavioral changes using standards of care. Recognizes symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress or other impending emergencies. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in the care of patients during the post-operative phase two recovery.
Accurately interprets ECG rhythm and manages care of patients during life‑threatening emergencies. Demonstrates knowledge of lead functions and application, able to make recommendations for best monitoring based on patient presentation. Understands and follows chain of command per policy. Reviews medical history, physical examination, nursing care plan, and all available assessment data. Identifies abnormal diagnostic data and reports it to the appropriate person.
Delegates patient care tasks to ancillary personnel based on individual competency and scope of practice. Evaluates effectiveness of care performed. Initiates a multidisciplinary, goal‑oriented care plan for each patient in collaboration with members of the health care team and provides care based on that plan. Educates patients and/or their families regarding care. Uses teaching methods appropriate to the age, condition, culture, and assessed learning‑readiness of the patient.
Completes legible, accurate, and timely documentation of all nursing care provided, including evaluation of the patient's response to medications, treatments, and procedures. Consistently performs necessary unit‑specific safety and quality control checks. Performs other job‑related duties as assigned. Committed to the safety and wellbeing of associates and patients.
