Job Description

The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality ambulatory clinic care and maintaining efficient clinic operations. Reporting to the Clinical Services Director (CSD), this role organizes and directs day-to-day clinic operations, supervises the clinic staff, and ensures clinic workflows are coordinated for effective service delivery. The Clinical Nurse Manager is experienced in people development, management, and RN-level nursing care.

This role maintains accountability for all functions of the clinic and clinic team, ensuring policies and workflows are clearly communicated and followed by the clinic and RN Case Manager team members.

Job Duties:
  • Ensure the clinic operates at a high standard, with proper equipment and safety protocols, while maintaining workflow efficiency and clarity.
  • Hire, retain, coach, develop, and supervise the clinic team, including RN Case Managers, Clinic RNs, Medical Assistants, and others, ensuring staff engagement and well-being.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities; perform root cause analysis, evaluate care delivery processes, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure nursing and clinic staff deliver and document interventions as per participants' care plans, including responding to physician orders, completing assessments, and actively participating in care planning.
  • Collaborate with medical practice leadership, providers, case managers, and other IDT disciplines to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of coordination and services.
  • Serve as the audit lead for clinical and nursing elements during CMS/DHCS audit review, in collaboration with CSD and Quality Improvement Director.
  • Develop and monitor corrective action plans to ensure ongoing compliance.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related healthcare field preferred; relevant professional experience may be substituted.
  • Unencumbered registered nurse (RN) state license required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience overseeing ambulatory clinic operations, including RN, LVN, and MA staff; equivalent nurse leader experience in a high-volume, outpatient setting may be considered.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a clinical setting with frail or elderly populations.
