Sr. R&D Lab Technician

Description

Align is looking for a Sr. R&D Lab Technician for our San Jose California location. You will be responsible for supporting the Materials engineering team in new product development and existing product improvement. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of working with chemicals and polymer materials, good knowledge of polymer material characterization and processes, and is willing to work in a laboratory environment.

  • Conduct routine material testing and develop reports using established procedures
  • Perform polymer processing as well as product testing
  • Work under supervision to support testing and characterization aspects
  • Data collection from instrumentation and measurements
  • Write reports based on data collection
  • Maintain a laboratory notebook
  • Good communication skills and quick learning capability needed
What we’re looking for
  • B.S Degree with 4+ years of experience
  • Experience with polymer materials
  • Experience with characterization equipment (such as FTIR, universal testing, DMA, DSC, TGA, UV-Vis, melt flow index, and others)
  • Knowledge and experience with plastic materials testing and processing
  • Understands good laboratory techniques and follows required safety protocols
  • Good observational skills and an ability to make independent decisions with regard to experiment execution within the laboratory
  • Must be willing to learn new techniques and take direction from others
Pay Transparency

If provided, base salary or wage rate ranges are the range in which Align reasonably expects to set a candidate’s pay for the posted position. Actual placement depends on the individual skills and experience level of a candidate plus the total compensation and equity across team members. For other locations outside of the primary location, the base salary range will be adjusted geographically.

For Field Sales roles, the salary listed is the base pay only and does not include the applicable incentive compensation plan. A cost of living adjustment may be added to base pay for higher cost areas in the U.S.

Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
