Job SummaryThe Lead EHS Engineer is responsible for leading the establishment, implementation, and continuous improvement of a safe and compliant work environment across multiple sites. This includes managing EHS regulations, policies, and safety objectives to ensure a healthy and accident‑free workplace aligned with both local and global standards.
U.S. Citizenship is required due to customer requirement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective or preventative measures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Lead initiatives to reduce recordable injuries and improve safety performance by monitoring safe systems of work and current safe operating procedures.
- Participate in pre‑start‑up safety reviews and equipment walk‑downs to identify safety concerns and conduct health and safety audits.
- Conduct process HAZOPs and risk assessments and ensure that existing risk assessments are regularly updated.
- Review and assess plant modifications, providing technical safety input for the design and construction of new facilities, including automation lines and process equipment.
- Facilitate change management processes in relation to EHS across facilities.
- Perform gap analyses and internal audits based on global EHS policy and international standards (ISO
14001, OSHAS
18001, EICC EHS Code Conformance). - Support sites and corporate functions during international standard certification audits, including audits by Jabil registrar or customer standards.
- Use enterprise systems to initiate, track, close, and measure the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions from internal and external audits.
- Training & Development:
- Create and validate training curricula in areas of responsibility, ensuring they align with safety policies.
- Assess training needs in conjunction with the Training Coordinator, select suitable providers, and deliver training to personnel and contractors as needed.
- Ensure the timely delivery of mandatory regulatory health and safety training within legal time frames.
- Ensure a sufficient number of staff are trained and hold positions such as first aiders and fire wardens.
- Emergency Response & Safety Systems:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and ensure that fire protection systems are effective.
- Coordinate emergency evacuations and drills.
- Promote safety awareness and behaviors through staff communication sessions and employee engagement forums.
- Policy Development & Implementation:
- Develop and update the site safety statement and policy in partnership with plant management and global EHS.
- Ensure all employees are periodically communicated on the safety statement and policies.
- Provide direction and advice to site management on implementing Health & Safety legislation and best practices to meet company objectives under the Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the General Application Regulations 2007.
- Leadership & Mentorship:
- Lead and coach the EHS team, including facilities staff, to ensure they deliver excellence to both internal and external customers.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts through trend reporting, analysis, and cost‑conscious management.
- Actively promote and increase awareness of safe work practices, both for the company staff and contractors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related discipline is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant Health/Safety experience within manufacturing or a related industry, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
- Recent OSHA 30 Certification is preferred.

- Ability to interpret and apply relevant safety legislation and regulatory compliance procedures.
- Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or other stakeholders.
- Self‑starter with demonstrated problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and third parties.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software tools.
- Desirable
Skills: - Experience monitoring hazardous substances/waste and stormwater permit compliance.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in risk assessment, process hazards analysis, and industrial hygiene.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and lead teams to deliver EHS excellence.
- This position may involve travel between various sites and manufacturing facilities.
- Occasional work in industrial settings and plant environments, including safety‑related walk‑throughs and audits.
