Senior QA Manager - Direct Hire

We are seeking an experienced QA Manager to lead large-scale QA programs and ensure quality across complex technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong hands-on QA background, deep knowledge of QA processes, and at least 3 years of recent experience in a QA Manager or similar leadership role. Experience working with AR/VR technologies is highly preferred, particularly candidates with exposure to devices, hardware, or hardware/software integrated products.

Direct hardware experience is a plus but not mandatory. This position requires someone who can operate at both the leadership and hands-on level, managing teams and programs while remaining closely involved in test strategy, execution, defect management, and overall product quality.

• Lead end-to-end QA strategy, planning, and execution for large-scale, complex programs
• Define and continuously improve QA processes, standards, methodologies, and best practices
• Develop and review test strategies, test plans, test cases, coverage, and release readiness
• Manage functional, integration, system, regression, end-to-end, and UAT testing
• Lead and mentor QA teams while coordinating testing across engineering, product, business, and other stakeholders
• Drive defect management, triage, root-cause analysis, and resolution
• Track and communicate QA metrics, risks, dependencies, and overall quality status
• Remain hands-on when needed, including reviewing test cases, identifying coverage gaps, analyzing defects, and troubleshooting testing issues
• Support quality validation across AR/VR products, devices, and hardware/software integrations, where applicable

• 3+ years of recent experience as a QA Manager, Test Manager, Quality Engineering Manager, or similar role
• Proven experience managing large-scale QA programs involving multiple teams, applications, products, or work streams
• Strong hands-on background in software testing and Quality Assurance
• Thorough understanding of QA processes, SDLC/STLC, testing methodologies, defect management, and release processes
• Experience with functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Familiarity with test automation, API testing, and QA/test management tools
• AR/VR testing experience strongly preferred
• Experience testing devices, hardware, embedded systems, or hardware/software integrated products is a plus, but not required
• Must be local to San Jose or the surrounding Bay Area
