Position: Research Scientist Intern (Seed-Responsible AI) - 2026 Start (PhD)
Our Seed-Responsible AI team is dedicated to building a technology center to provide technical support for all Byte Dance products from the perspective of making AI models responsible, trustworthy, and aligned with human values. We are looking for research scientist interns who have solid technical skills while passionate about pursuing excellence in responsible AI and related areas. We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2026.

- Research and development of technologies on responsible AI, particularly with a focus on large language models, including but not limited to safety, reasoning, alignment, privacy, robustness;

- Perform research on responsible AI and collaborate with experts from both academia and industry;

- Design and perform theoretical analysis of AI algorithms.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Researchers or PhD students in Machine Learning and other related fields;

- In-depth understanding of machine learning with rich experiences in relevant fields;

- Background in large language models, especially post-training or alignment, is preferable;

- Familiar with at least one popular machine learning framework (e.g., Pytorch, Tensor Flow, JAX etc);

- Good at communications and prioritizing teamwork;

- Solid mathematical background and coding ability;

- Publication at the top conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, FAccT, AAAI, CVPR, ICCV, ACL, WWW etc) is a big plus;
