Position: Research Scientist in Large Language Model Graduate (Seed-LLM)- 2026 Start (PhD)

Established in 2023, the Byte Dance Seed team is dedicated to discovering new approaches to general intelligence, and pursuing the edge of intelligence. Our research spans large language models, Gen Media, AI for Science, Robotics and more. With a long-term vision and determination in AI, the Byte Dance Seed team remains committed to foundational research. We aim to become a world-class AI research team that drives real technological progress and delivers societal benefits.

With labs across China, Singapore, and the U.S., our team has already released industry-leading general-purpose large models and advanced multimodal capabilities, powering over 50 real-world applications - including Doubao, Coze, and Jimeng. Launch your career where inspiration is infinite cessful candidates must be able to commit to an onboarding date by end of year 2026. Please state your availability and graduation date clearly in your resume. Responsibilities - Explore large-scale models and optimize systems to the extreme;

- Data construction, instruction tuning, preference alignment, and model optimization;

- Implementation of relevant applications, including content generation, reasoning, code generation, etc.;

- In-depth research and exploration of more usage scenarios in future life.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Currently pursuing a PhD in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field - Excellent coding ability, data structures, and fundamental algorithm skills, proficient in C/C++ or Python, winners of competitions such as ACM/ICPC, NOI/IOI, Top Coder, Kaggle, etc.

- Familiar with NLP, CV-related algorithms, technologies, and familiar with large-scale model training and RL algorithms - Candidates who have led influential projects or papers in the field of large-scale models

Preferred Qualifications:

- Excellent problem analysis and solving skills, able to deeply solve problems in large-scale model training and application;

- Good communication and collaboration skills, able to explore new technologies with the team and promote technological progress. #LI-Onsite
