Research Associate II (Single-Cell NGS)

Reports to:

Staff Scientist

FLSA Class:
Exempt

Salary: 100, USD (US base salary range for this full‑time position, expected to be located in San Jose, CA.)

Responsibilities:

• Design, execute, and analyze experiments for new life‑science tools and reagents.
• Conduct laboratory work and complex tasks under minimal supervision.
• Prepare and perform single‑cell and bulk DNA/RNA NGS library preparation, sequencing, and data analysis.
• Use liquid handlers and sequencing instrumentation to produce high‑quality data.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and document findings in detail.
• Maintain laboratory supplies, perform housekeeping, and manage inventory.
• Assist in technical training of laboratory personnel.

Position type:
Lab‑based research associate. No supervisory responsibilities.

Education & experience:

• BA, BS, or MS in molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of industrial experience in relevant fields.
• Proficiency in general laboratory procedures – PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, quantitation, quality assessment, and NGS library preparation.
• Strong time‑management, prioritization, and deadline‑meeting skills.
• Accurate record‑keeping with detailed lab notes.
• Adaptability to shifting demands.

Preferred (you are amazing if you have):

• Experience with single‑cell assays, NGS sequencers, or automation platforms.
• Experience with cell culture.
